Apple expected to launch five new iPhones, two with OLED displays, and an iPhone X-like iPad Pro

Analysts and developers believe that we can expect to see at least five new iOS devices in 2018. These include two iPhones with LCD displays, two iPhones with OLED displays and a “modern” iPad with an iPhone X-like bezel-less design and Face ID module. An entry-level iPhone SE update is also expected.

According to a Digitimes analyst, the LCD iPhones will have 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch screens. The OLED iPhones are expected to feature screens from 6 inches to 6.5 inches in size. These phones are expected to support wireless charging and Face ID.

The iPhone SE replacement will apparently include an LCD screen and wireless charging, but no Face ID. The Digitimes analyst expects this phone’s production to begin by Q2 2018, with an official launch in May or June, most likely around WWDC.

Anotherreport in GizmoChina describes a brand new “modern iPad” that will feature an iPhone X-like bezel-less design and Face ID. The device is likely to be a “Pro” branded device.

The website quotes an early KGI Securities report to support the Face ID theory. Apparently, code found in the iOS 11.3 beta reveals a reference to a “modern iPad”. As GizmoChina notes, the iPhone X was originally referred to as the “modern iPhone”, lending credence to the theory that the new iPad will look a lot like the iPhone X.
